URC7956, URC7981:What are “Discrete Keys”?

Discrete keys are supported by many major manufacturers and they are basically a way of sending a command to your TV that only does one thing. So for example if you press the Power key on your original remote for your TV, it probably turns it on and when pressed again turns it off. But if your TV has a discrete key called “Power On” listed in the app, this will only ever power on the TV, never turn it off. Similarly the Input key on your original remote control will probably swap between several different HDMI inputs. But if your TV has a Discrete Key called HDMI 1 listed, you should find that this goes straight to the HDMI 1 input, without having to scroll between inputs. Discrete Keys can be very useful for setting up Macros, especially when placing a macro on an Activity.
